About the project

Commissioned by BC Liquor, this project involved designing a comprehensive distribution branch manual that balanced clarity, functionality, and brand consistency while introducing a refreshed, modern aesthetic. Our challenge was to create a layout that adhered to BC Liquor’s established visual identity while ensuring the manual remained engaging, legible, and structured for ease of use.


From the outset, our approach was grounded in editorial best practices, focusing on hierarchical typography, strategic grid systems, and a refined color palette that maintained BC Liquor’s professional and authoritative tone. We worked within the constraints of the brand’s existing corporate guidelines, carefully modernizing layouts without disrupting brand recognition. This required thoughtful typographic pairings and subtle refinements to ensure visual cohesion while enhancing readability across print and digital formats.


One of the key challenges was balancing dense regulatory content with a clean, digestible layout. We leveraged white space, iconography, and structured callout sections to break up text-heavy pages, improving user navigation and information retention. Additionally, we incorporated data visualization elements, such as charts, infographics, and tabular formatting, to make key statistics and procedures more accessible.


For a polished finish, we selected premium paper stock and a professional binding method to reinforce the manual’s durability and high-end feel. The final product delivered a refreshed yet brand-aligned document, providing BC Liquor’s distribution branch with a functional, aesthetically refined, and user-friendly resource.
