About the project

Creating Alejandro Herrera’s architect portfolio required a careful balance between sophisticated editorial design and a subtle yet distinct brand identity. The challenge was to develop a clean, structured layout that complemented rather than competed with his architectural work—allowing the designs to take center stage while maintaining a cohesive, professional aesthetic.

Our approach was rooted in typographic refinement, grid-based layouts, and strategic use of space to showcase the projects—key principles in editorial and architectural presentation. We opted for a restrained color palette and a light, modern typographic system, ensuring that each element served to enhance rather than distract from the visuals. The branding had to be elegant yet understated, subtly reinforcing Alejandro Herrera’s identity without overpowering the precision and craftsmanship of his projects.

A major challenge was crafting a narrative flow that guided the reader seamlessly through the portfolio. We employed hierarchical typography, margin alignment, and carefully placed callouts to create an intuitive reading experience, allowing each project to unfold naturally. Page composition and pacing were meticulously designed to provide breathing room between text and imagery, emphasizing key details without overwhelming the viewer.

The final result was a timeless, editorially refined portfolio that presents Alejandro Herrera’s architectural vision with clarity and sophistication. The subtle branding elements act as a harmonious backdrop, enhancing the overall experience without overshadowing the work itself. This project highlights the power of thoughtful editorial design in amplifying an artist’s unique voice while maintaining a seamless, immersive visual experience.
